Degrees of comparison-Grammar.
Degrees of comparison in English grammar refer to the different forms of adjectives and adverbs used to express varying degrees of a quality or quantity.there are three main degrees
1.positive degrees.
2.comparative degrees.
3.superlative degrees.
1.POSITIVE DEGREES :
( discribes a single quality)
* Describes a quality without any comparison,used for basic descriptions.
* Positive degree என்பது ஒரு நபரை, பொருளை அல்லது இடத்தை பொதுவாகக் குறிக்கும்.
* Positive degree. என்பது ஒரு Statement ஆகும்.
Example :
Ragavi is a good girl.
ராகவி ஒரு நல்ல சிறுமி.
Dhanus is a good student.
தனுஷ் ஒரு நல்ல மாணவன்.
2.COMPARATIVE DEGREES :
( compares two entities)
* Compares two entities, indicating which has a greater or lesser degree of a quality.
* Uses "---er" or. "more" for adjectives and adverbs.
* Comparative degree என்பது இரு நபர்களை / பொருட்களை / இடங்களை ஒப்பீடு செய்வதைக் குறிப்பதாகும்.
* Comparative degree யில் வாக்கியத்தில் அந்த டிகிரிக்கு அடுத்து " Than " வரும்.
Example :
He is fast runner in the class.
Raja is better than Ravi.
3. SUPERLATIVE DEGREE :
( Compares three three or more entities)
* Compare three or more entities, indicating which has the highest or lowest degrees of a quality.
* Uses "----est" for adjectives and adverbs.
* Superlative degree என்பது ஒரு பல நபர்களில், பொருட்களில் அல்லது இடங்களில் இருந்து சிறந்தவற்றை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து சொல்வதாகும்.
* Superlative degree யில் வாக்கியத்தில் அந்த டிகிரிக்கு முன்னால் " The" வரும்.
Example :
Siva ia the best student in the class.
She is the fastest runner in the class.
