# Prefix (முன்னொட்டு) அறிமுகம் :

      Prefix என்பது ஒரு அடிச்சொல்லின் (Base Word) தொடக்கத்தில் சேர்க்கப்படும் ஒரு சில எழுத்துக்கள். இது அடிச்சொல்லின் அர்த்தத்தை மாற்றும் அல்லது புதிய வார்த்தையை உருவாக்கும்.

Introduction to Prefixes :

         A Prefix is a few letters added to the beginning of a Base Word to slightly change its meaning or create a new word.

உதாரணமாக:

 * Happy (மகிழ்ச்சி) என்ற அடிச்சொல்லுடன் un- என்ற Prefix-ஐச் சேர்த்தால், Unhappy (மகிழ்ச்சியற்ற) என்ற எதிர்மறை அர்த்தம் கொண்ட புதிய சொல் உருவாகிறது.

 * Do என்ற அடிச்சொல்லுடன் re- என்ற Prefix-ஐச் சேர்த்தால், Redo (மீண்டும் செய்) என்ற பொருள் கொண்ட புதிய சொல் உருவாகிறது.

For Example:

 * When we add the prefix un- to the base word Happy, we get the new word Unhappy, which means the opposite (not happy).

 * When we add the prefix RE- to the base word DO- we get the new word REDO , which means "to do again."

💡 எளிதாகப் புரிந்துகொள்வதற்கான குறிப்புகள்:

       * மூலச்சொல்லைக் (Root Word) கண்டறியவும்: ஒரு சொல்லில் 'Prefix' நீக்கப்பட்டால் மீதமுள்ள சொல் (மூலச்சொல்) பெரும்பாலும் ஒரு முழுமையான அர்த்தத்தைக் கொண்டிருக்கும்.

   * உதாரணம்: Disagree - இதில் dis- என்பது 'Prefix', agree (ஒப்புக்கொள்) என்பது மூலச்சொல்.

* பொருளை நினைவில் கொள்ளுங்கள்:

         ஒவ்வொரு 'Prefix'-க்கும் ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட பொருள் உள்ளது. ஒரு புதிய சொல்லைப் பார்க்கும்போது, அதன் 'Prefix' என்ன அர்த்தம் கொடுக்கிறது என்பதை நினைவில் வைத்துப் பொருளை ஊகிக்கலாம்.

   * உதாரணம்: Preheat என்றால் pre- (முன்) + heat (சூடுபடுத்து), அதாவது முன்னரே சூடுபடுத்துதல்.
